French National Strike now to precede Air France industrial action, impact dates Mar 21-23.
In addition to the original strike called by Air France unions, a National Strike has been called which includes the main Air Traffic Control trade unions. This action is expected to impact travel in France starting the evening of Wednesday, March 21 and all day on Thursday, March 22 in addition to the Air France industrial action on Friday, March 23.
Airlines are warning that delays and cancellations may occur last minute.
Airlines are working to assist passengers with waivers etc. Policies vary by carrier. For example:
Air France and Delta have extended their waiver policies beyond what was issued below to include the new strike dates.
British Airways is allowing changes for any customer due to fly to or from any French airport as well as Madrid and Barcelona on Wednesday, March 21 or Thursday, March 22. Rebooked travel must occur by March 27, 2018.
Other airlines may also issue/extend waivers. Travelers are advised to monitor information about the strikes and your specific flight status.

Several Air France staff unions have called for a strike on March 23, 2018.
Air France said in a statement, “It remains too early to ascertain the effects this strike might have on our flight schedule.” However, travelers should be prepared for possible delays or cancelations on flights operated by Air France, HOP, and/or JOON. Passengers traveling with airlines that code share with Air France flights may also be impacted.
Air France and Delta have issued waivers for travel originally scheduled on March 23-24. Travel can be rebooked for either March 20-21 or March 25-28, 2018. Further, Air France said passengers may also choose to postpone travel to sometime after 28 March 2018, change your country of destination or origin or cancel your trip. In these cases, Air France will provide customers with a voucher that will be valid for 1 year and can be used on Air France, KLM or HOP flights. This voucher will be non-refundable.
Other airlines that code share with Air France may also decide to issue similar waivers. Travelers are advised to monitor airline flight status with regards to your specific itinerary.
