As Aspen’s Lake Christine wild fire continues to burn the resulting conditions may continue to impact travel to/from/through Aspen-Pitkin County Airport through July 18, 2018. Airlines have extended waivers as follows:
American’s waiver now covers flights through July 18. Rebooked travel should occur by July 22, 2018.
Delta, KLM and United’s waiver also includes flights through July 18. Rebooked travel should occur by July 25, 2018.
These waivers could be extended again and other carriers may add their own exception policies as they evaluate forecasted conditions in regards to their operations.
Travelers are advised to monitor airline flight status with regards to your specific itinerary.
Travelers are also advised to monitor conditions on the ground as local authorities may call for new evacuations of select areas if the fire continues to spread.
