Civil unrest continues in Santiago. The protests were first sparked by a since suspended metro fare hike but has now widened to reflect anger over living costs and inequality. The government has issued a state of emergency and is imposing a curfew. As protests continue, disruptions that may impact travelers will likely continue as well. Airlines have issued waivers as follows:
AeroMexico: through Oct 28
American: through Oct. 27
Copa: through Oct. 25
Delta/KLM: through Oct. 25
Iberia: through Oct. 27
LANTAM: through Oct. 27
United: through Oct. 27
These waivers could be extended and other carriers may also offer waivers.
