Has your airline status slipped due to a significant life event?
Delta unveiled a new program that gives SkyMiles members the chance to regain lost loyalty status under certain circumstances. The new Reclaim My Status option was created based on feedback from members who temporarily had to curtail travel for a while due to a variety of significant life events such as a the birth of a child, serious illness or surgery, needing to care for a family member or a change of jobs etc.
To take advantage of this option, members would apply online and explain the reason for their travel hiatus. If approved, the customer’s elite status would be reinstated for three months. The loyalty member would then need to meet a minimum travel and spend threshold for that period for the status to continue.
