Lyft adds rewards program for business travelers

Ride sharing operator Lyft is now offering rewards for customers with a business profile. With the Lyft Business Rewards program riders can earn $5 in personal ride credits for every five business rides they take. Customers can earn up to $100 every quarter.

 

National Car Rental launches toll tracking and other new service offerings

Customers who use the National Car Rental app will be able to view toll details including the date and time of the tolls along with a description of where the tolls were incurred. Toll information will be available for the customers’ past 15 months of trips.

In other news, National has opened new locations in Latin America including Ecuador, Guyana and Suriname. Emerald Club Priority Service is now available in the Dominican Republic and Guyana. Travelers to China will be able to secure car-and-driver services via National starting Oct. 1, 2018. National is teaming with Shanghai-based EHI to offer the new service. EHi has locations in more than 200 cities.

 

Southwest the latest to tighten its emotional support animal policy

Officials at Southwest Airlines said a more restrictive policy regarding emotional support animals will go into effect Sept. 17, 2018. Under the new policy, a passenger can only bring one emotional support animal with them, which can be either a dog or cat. “Unusual or exotic animals” will not be allowed as an emotional support animal. Passengers will need to submit a letter from a medical doctor or licensed therapist on the day of travel. Animals must be either on a leash or in a carrier throughout the flight.
