Celebrity Edge: a high-tech cruise experience for today’s modern traveler  

Celebrity Cruise Lines’ new ship, the Edge, is one of the most technologically advanced ships on the seas today, boasting many unique features that will appeal to today’s modern traveler. One of the Edge’s most revolutionary features is its Magic Carpet, which is a moveable floating platform on the outside of the ship that can be positioned on several different deck levels. When on Decks 16, 14 or 5, it serves as an extension of different restaurant and bar areas for a special kind of experience. When on Deck 2, it serves as an innovative new launch platform turning the tendering process into more of a party.  “Guests go through the Destination Gateway, over the Magic Carpet and easily onto newly designed launches,” Debbie said. Or you can stay onboard, relax and people watch in the open-air lounge space on the Magic Carpet, which features armchairs, comfortable couches and a bar.

The Edge’s entertainment and dining experiences are also modern and edgy with today’s top hits being played and performance artists milling among the guests. According to Debbie, “There are four complimentary main dining venues, each with a distinct design from a different region of the world, and each night highlights specialty dishes from that particular restaurant’s region.”  The Edge also offers other dining experiences ranging from a gourmet grab-and-go deli to a reservation-only sushi spot. Plus, the Edge features an amazing 3-D animated dining experience at Le Petit Chef™ and Friends, where guests will enjoy an inspiring journey around the world with delicious and whimsical dishes that offer theater on your plate while your whole table comes to life.

The Edge effortlessly blends indoor and outdoor experiences with its abundant greenery and many massive windows, making it easy to feel in-touch with the outside world, even when sitting inside. The ship also provides many sitting areas on the decks and abundant chaise lounges for relaxing.
