A strike by flight attendants at EVA Air, Taiwan’s second-largest airline, has forced the carrier to cancel more than 100 flights since the job action began Thursday evening, June 20. This includes service to/from Chicago.

In a statement the airline said “Eva has deployed an emergency response team and is making every effort to mobilize all our resources. We are working closely with concerned authorities, fellow airlines, and travel agencies to arrange alternative flights for passengers and doing all we can to reduce delays.”

Passengers should closely monitor flight status as this situation continues to develop. Passengers can visit https://www.evaair.com/en-global/emer/strikeinfo.html  or call Eva’s reservation center at 1-800-695-1188 for updates.

As a result of the strike, Air Canada issued change waivers for its passengers traveling June 20-24 to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport.

Other carriers may also offer flexible rebooking.

Check with your airline or your Adelman travel consultant for specific rebooking or cancelation options and for additional information.
