Several unions representing Alitalia ground staff have confirmed that they will strike on Wednesday, Oct. 9.

Alitalia is advising that it has cancelled a series of flights, both domestic and international, scheduled for Oct. 9 with the exception of the guaranteed bands 7:00a-10:00a and 6:00p-9:00p. The carrier also canceled some flights the evening of Oct. 8 and early morning of Oct. 10. Alitalia is using larger aircraft on flights that are running to accommodate passengers who need to be re-accommodated off of flights that have been cancelled.
