Civil unrest in Santiago sparked by a now suspended metro fare hike, has widened to reflect anger over living costs and inequality. Major disruptions are expected to continue at least through Monday with many banks, schools and shops expected to remain closed.
Airlines have issued waivers as follows:
Copa: through Oct. 21
Iberia: through Oct. 24
KLM: through Oct. 21
United: through Oct. 23
These waivers could be extended and other carriers may also offer waivers.
