Japan Airlines is cautioning that delays may occur for flights to/from Sapporo resulting from the Chitose Air Festival which will be held at JASDF’s Chitose Air Base on Sunday August 4. Flights may also be impacted during rehearsals leading up to the air show.

Rehearsals could occur any day between now and Aug. 1 generally from 10:15-10:30, with rehearsals planned for 11:15 to 11:30 on Aug. 2 and from 11:15 to 11:30 and again from 1:40 to 2:20pm on Aug. 3. Show times on Aug. 4 are scheduled between from 10:15-10:30, 11:15 to 11:30 and again from 1:40 to 2:20pm.

Japan Airlines said changes and refunds for delays and cancellations due to these events will be handled in the same manner as reservation change and refund due to flight disruption.

In addition, visitors planning on traveling to/from Sapporo’s New Chitose Airport are strongly recommended to allow more time to avoid the possible traffic congestion or shortage of parking lots.
