After battering Guam and the northern Mariana Islands, Super Typhoon Hagibis is now tracking toward mainland Japan. Forecasters are saying that the Tokyo area will see some of the greatest impacts starting Friday night but with the worst coming on Saturday.  By Sunday, much of Japan can expect improving weather; however, downpours and strong winds will still be possible in far northern Honshu and eastern Hokkaido.

Airlines have issued waivers as follows:

American Airlines issued waivers for Osaka (Itami & Kansai), Nagoya and Tokyo (Haneda & Narita) Oct. 12-13.

ANA issued waivers for travel as follows:

Oct. 11: Hachijojima, Osaka (Itami & Kansai) Kobe, Tokyo (Haneda & Narita)
Oct. 12: Shonai, Niigata, Sendai, Fukushima, Noto, Toyama, Komatsu, Tokyo (Haneda & Narita), Hachijojima, Shizuoka, Nagoya Chubu, Osaka (Itami & Kansai), Kobe, Tokushima, Takamatsu, Kochi
Oct. 13: Shonai, Niigata, Sendai, Fukushima, Noto, Toyama, Komatsu, Tokyo (Haneda & Narita), Hachijojima, Shizuoka, Nagoya Chubu

Delta/KLM issued waivers for Osaka (Kansai), Nagoya and Tokyo (Haneda & Narita) through Oct. 13.

Iberia issued waivers for Osaka (Itami & Kansai), Nagoya and Tokyo (Haneda & Narita) Oct. 12-13.

JAL is advising of irregular operations with special ticket handling

Oct 11:  Nagoya, Osaka (Itami & Kansai), Kitadaito, Minamidaito
Oct 12: Tokyo (Haneda & Narita), Nagoya, Osaka (Itami & Kansai), Sendai,   Yamagata, Niigata, Komatsu, Nanki-Shirahama, Tokushima, Takamatsu, Kochi
Oct 13: Tokyo (Haneda & Narita), Nagoya, Osaka (Itami & Kansai), Sendai,   Yamagata, Niigata, Komatsu

Other carriers may also offer waivers. Other airports could also be impacted and waivers will likely be extended or added depending on the track and strength of this developing storm.
