The remnants of Imelda will continue to weaken Friday as the storm makes its way into northern Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana, but it will continue dumping heavy rain. Parts of southeast Texas and southwest Louisiana are still under flash flood watches while parts of the Houston area are still dealing with flood waters.

Many airlines extended its waivers for flights to the airports they serve in Houston (George Bush Intercontinental- IAH and Hobby- HOU) as follows:

  • AeroMexico, Spirit and United: IAH for travel thru Sept. 20
  • Air Canada: IAH for travel thru Sept. 21
  • American, Delta/KLM: IAH and HOU thru Sept. 20
  • JetBlue and Southwest: HOU for travel Sept. 20

Other airports in the region could also be impacted by the storm and other carriers may also offer waivers. 

Check with your airline or your Adelman travel consultant for specific rebooking or cancelation options in regards to these waivers.

As a reminder flight delays at hub airports could cause a ripple effect for other flights around the country. Travelers are advised to monitor airline flight status with regards to your specific itinerary.
