As civil unrest in Nicaragua continues American airlines extended waivers for travel to/from/through Managua as follows:
American’s waiver was extended to August 30. Customers can change their origin or destination city to Belize City, Belize (BZE), Guatemala City, Guatemala (GUA), Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR), Panama City, Panama (PTY), San Salvador, El Salvador (SAL), San Pedro, Honduras (SAP), San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO), or Tegucigalpa, Honduras (TGU) Rebooked travel should occur by September 15, 2018.
Delta’s latest waiver now includes travel through August 30. Rebooked travel should occur by September 15, 2018.
United added a new waiver covering travel through August 20. Rebooked travel should occur by September 30, 2018.
Current waivers may be further extended or other carriers may follow suit as they evaluate the situation in regards to their operations.
Travelers are advised to not only monitor airline flight status with regards to your specific itinerary but should also monitor the situation on the ground, being on the watch for demonstrations or other situations that could impact your safety or cause disruption.
