Travel Alerts

Adverse weather is expected with winter storm Avery, which will impact a large portion of the eastern half of the U.S.

Airlines have issued waivers in some cases for travel up through Nov. 17. Each carrier’s policy varies in regards to what airports are included but for the most part cover the majority of airports from the Washington D.C. area, north through Maine depending on the carrier.

Airlines such as Southwest and Spirit also have waivers for airports outside the main target area, such as St. Louis, Nashville, Louisville, Indianapolis and various airports in Ohio. United and West Jet issued waivers for airports in Canada such as Toronto and Montreal etc. again depending on the carrier.

These waivers may be further extended as the storm continues to develop. Check with your airline or your Adelman travel consultant for the latest on specific rebooking or cancelation options in regards to these waivers.

As a reminder flight delays in the East could cause a ripple effect for other flights around the country. Travelers are advised to monitor airline flight status with regards to your specific itinerary.

Please contact your Adelman travel consultant for additional information.
